Would this be okay to use on driver's side floor pan in a '68 Charger?

A neighbor glued panels on his 67 Nova 20 years ago and their still on the car. I assume the adhesive is better now. Manufacturers claim the bond is stronger than a weld. I would use the glue generously to make sure there is a good seal and bare metal on the inside is covered. I'm assuming it is a two part, epoxy type adhesive.
