'68 Coronet. How is the parking brake cable clip released where the cable goes through the torsion bar support? I am not understanding the mechanism. Is the keeper on the back side of the cable clipped on and it pops off or do you squeeze it and push the cable back through the frame like where the cables pass through the brake plates on the axle? Or none of the above?

I don't want to sound dumb, but are you trying to take it loose at the inside parking brake itself or just under the car?

If Im thinking correctly where it enters the frame there are finger like clips that squeeze together as you push it in or take it out. I took mine off my runner a couple of months ago and I believe that's correct, but Im not at home to check and see.

This is the retainer that hold the cable in place through the underside of the car. If you cannot get into the split part to pry it open a little bit, just pry it off towards the back of the car and the cable will slide out from the front.
