Does anybody know how to remove the pigtail from the housing without destroying it? I have a good housing with a bad pigtail and a broken housing with a good pigtail.
Very Carefully ! I'm not sure if there is an actual process ? I believe they were "swedged", or "rolled", at the manufacturer. You could also try cleaning them up, as much as possible, and refinish to an acceptable condition. I just re-did a set for my '63, but before starting, I picked up several spares at Carlisle, so I would have some back ups...
yikes. well, i guess it's time to tear into one to see how it's assembled. i saw notches on the socket and thought maybe it threaded in. anybody else with some insight before i go "beast mode" ?
