Passed winter writing and publishing a book

So guys I spent many years sitting down writing a medieval fantasy book in my spare time plus the last couple of months of winter not being able to work on my RT Charger I decided to polish it up and format it, I then bought some artwork and built a cover for it too. I am proud to say i have now self published my very first effort. At 600 pages long its a big story. If you like the idea of Lord of the Rings mixed in with Game of Thrones then you might wanna check it out. Cheers!

Good for you, I've thought about writing a semi-autobiographical, spiced up so people would buy it, use fake names about true experiences, a book mainly about my travels, cars/racing & construction exploits, maybe even a little of college & raising children by myself, thrown in too... good luck with the book...

Many people have said I need to write a book...but they beet me to it LOL between the court house the neighbors and the auto parts stores over the years theres plenty written... they also seemed to write a lot down in school all the way through... good to use to establish a time line.... then fill in the rest, is what I plan to do in a few years

Okay i have some more news to report, i have built a Facebook page to advertise the book and it has a large "About" section giving a brief description of the story as well as some character outlines, it also has the link to be able to purchase directly too. i dont think you need a Facebook account to see the page. True. I read a few books at a time. I'm trying to finish two books, one is ~250 pages the other ~480 pages. Then I will be tackling "War & Peace" that is ~1200 pages with 500 characters. Pretty ominous looking when I got it in the mail.

I have to chime in here..

This is an awesome accomplishment. SO congrats on that firstly.

But, the price is outrageous for a self published book. You should have published it on Kindle, built a up a following and maybe (if it's good enough) land a deal with Hollywood like Hugh Howey did! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Howey

I have read ALL of his books and the positive critique he is getting is well deserved.

I have a book underway as well and I hope once it all comes together, to publish the same way he did.

Yah the book price i reduced from the 38 bucks recommended for a 600 page book to the thirty bucks i am asking, i took a hit on profits but i wanted to start out there so i could have a few hard copies and proofread it all and send out some signed copies to some people. Then i will be creating the ebook version to cover that market too. Right now i am working on exposure and getting some feedback from some readers too. I will check out that link and see if i can get any pointers.
