I was considering adding a passenger side mirror to my '69 Roadrunner.
(But then, maybe it loses that "nostalgic look" without one.)

How are those attached? Do I heed to take off the inside door panel to thread a nut on a bolt?

(I'm remembering that my old Mustang simply had anchors set into the holes in the door ...& screws that ran though those! ...no need to get into the guts of the door.)

Limited use. Reconsider. 2 less holes in your door. Mine gets bumped by the wing window and pitted in a short time. If you go forward do your homework.

Yes, you remove the door panel. There's one big nut & a small screw that holds it on. As Dennis mentioned, watch very carefully the clearance vs. the vent window when you open it (can hit mirror) so you position it correctly. I added one on my car to help with the blind spot.

I recently added a nice original one to my 69 Road Runner. Backing into my single door garage without it, was a bit daunting. As mentioned above, placement is critical. I measured the dimensions on the drivers side, but using those, the mirror was placed behind the post (too far forward) and was basically unusable. I moved it rearward 1/2" and it was perfect and not really noticeable side to side. Also, my driver mirror appears to be tilted slightly inboard at the rear. Not sure if this is by design, or it was remounted incorrectly at some point. Bottom line, make certain you have enough range of adjustment to be able to see out of it from the drivers seat when backing up. Also, do NOT over tighten the nut! (DAMHIK) Snug it, and use a dab of Loctite. Take your time and enjoy the results!

FYI. Learn from this.

Thanks for all the great advice!!
I'm not certain on wanting the pax side mirror, but I see they're about $130 and I've thought about it.
Don't really need one, unless I'm going to start backing into my garage.

I've been thinking about installing the pass. side mirror also and was wondering if anyone with a factory installed mirror could measure their's so we can know what what the factory did .

there's a pass side mirror mounting template in the FSM

I used the guides inside the door. Maybe the mirror was wrong.
