Looking for a 48" length Push Button Shifter Cable, for my '63 Dodge MW project. Turns out, the 42" /6 cable will not easily clear the MW Ex manifolds. The 48" cable was the length used on All BB applications, 361,383,426, so Hoping someone has one collecting dust, on a shelf ?
Let me know, Thanks
**Here is the Original Part# for my search, '62-63 BB P/N#2266405**

will a cable from a pushbutton setup off a 65 big block b body work??
the cable is still on the trans i believe, was a 383 car.
i have the entire pushbutton setup somewheres in one of these trailers....
lmk,and ill measure it up if so.

Rob, it may ? I don't think the '65 B-bodies had PB, but some C bodies had them I believe ? I'm using a '65 Cable shifted slip yoke, and think the ends are the same ? The 48" length is what will work for my app. Check the length, and let me know, Thanks...

it was a weird dart,a 1962 4door with a 383 motor dated 64 and a 65 trans combo,it certainly did screw down the road well enough.
thats about all i recall, ill get my brother to help me tomm and get it out.

actually, lol,i just remembered more about that car.
do you remember when me n you met up and went to that fellas place southern ny?
he was The one that built that dart and owned it in the way back days,
before it got sold and ended up in east bungholio.

i still want that 3 spoke red wheel he had in the land barge,
so lmk if there was anything else at his place you wanted.

I remember using one from a 63 Chrysler just a little longer than the 63 BB cable

I'll look tomorrow

Jim, would that be for a Console shift, like the 500's had ? I'll try to look that P/N up today, Thanks.

I've got one that's close to 59" from a 63-64 Chrysler 300 pushbutton trans

Jim, I found that part#, it comes back for ALL '64-65 with a console shift, so it probably has different ends on it, compared to a PB application. Thanks for looking on that !
Ahh didn't think of column shifter
Sorry

The 1965 cable will NOT work on the earlier PB transmissions unless the valve body has been switched. The reason is the ends on the cables are different. The 1965 shifter is cable operated by floor or column shifter but doesn’t use Pushbuttons to select gear

The 1965 cable has a larger groove and is shown on the left in picture.

I just looked at my spare cables The ends are the same for the 63 push button as the 65 console at the rooster comb. Have never seen the wider groove cable?
