I installed power disc brakes in my car and got a master cylinder/power booster combo from the ramman. I noticed there is a 3 inch difference in height between the top of the clutch pedal and the top of the brake pedal. The clutch sits 3" higher. I noticed the brake switch is a good 1" away from contacting the pedal. How do i adjust this? There is about 5" from the floor to the top of the brake pedal. Thanks

Your brake pedal pushrod is too short, mismatched or just plain wrong. Resolve the situation before you drive the car. If the Front or Rear system goes out your pedal will hit the floor renderining you with NO brakes.

difference in height between clutch & brake pedal is normal for this combination. You can adjust the brake switch to different location under the dash. Did you install the proper "Z" bar style linkage under the dash for power brakes?

on non-power brake cars, both pedals are same height. On power brake cars, brake pedal is about 3" lower than clutch pedal

I installed the Z linkage that the ramman supplied me with his kit. Its exactly 3" lower. I will try to adjust the switch under the dash, is it suppsed to be fully compressed or just touching the pedal. Thanks

it should be fully compressed....or at least compressed enough to turn off brake lights

you may have to remove the switch & bracket and install in the other mounting holes under the dash

Couple ways to do it: set the switch so it is compressed approximately 1/4 inch or use a test light on the switch. Attach the test light to the switch, adjust the switch 'till the light goes out with the bake pedal resting against the stop, depress the brake pedal and see if the test light come's on. Switch is set. Rick

Out of curiosity - why is that? I have tried to find a way to get my clutch closer to the brake, but it doesn't seems to be possible.

clutch pedal has to be higher for travel needed to make clutch operate with ease. If pedal was lower, the travel would be less and you would need much more force in order to move clutch fork the same amount. It's a "geometry" principle. Kinda like a longer breaker bar needed to bust large nuts loose on some applications. Longer clutch pedal, easier to operate clutch via the "Z" bar in engine compartment
