Pete Rose Will Not Be In The Lineup

It was fun watching Charlie Hustle play. R.I.P.

I saw Pete play during the glory days of The Big Red Machine. One of the greatest baseball teams of all time. Maybe they will finally let him in the hall of fame. He is already there as part of The Big Red Machine display.

One of the best players I've ever seen, since his rookie year in 63..... R.I.P. Charlie Hustle

RIP Charlie Hustle. It's criminal they didn't allow him in the Hall of Fame while he was still with us.

My hero when I was young growing up playing baseball. RIP Pete and a big middle for those who didn’t let him in the HOF. One of the greatest players to ever play the sport!!!

Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb's all-time hits record on September 11, 1985, when he hit his 4,192nd base hit at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rose's hit came off a pitch from San Diego Padres pitcher Eric Show and landed in left-center field.

I was there.....Marge Schott, owner of the Reds gave Pete Rose two Corvettes

One convertible one hardtop grand sport.

Marge owned two Chevy dealers in Cincinnati.

RIP

That was my nieces 1st birthday. I watched that game on an old tube TV. They had a white circle where the ball landed up until they tore down Riverfront Stadium.

I watched plenty of games there, Charlie Hustle was always a favorite. Loved watching him play. He needs to be in the HOF. Best hitter in the game.

RIP Pete.

I can't say as a teenager I was a huge fan of the Reds, as I was a Pirate fan of course. Once in college in Columbus Ohio, one of my classmates landed some tickets to see the Reds at Riverfront stadium. Pete was on the streak then! I must admit, leading up to the game, it was really all my friends and I could talk about, was the streak and praying it was still intact for our game. As it turned out it was, I can't recall the game precisely, maybe somewhere in the 30's on the streak, but he went 3-3 that night and I was a fan of his afterwards. Years later I had the opportunity to get an autographed baseball and photo. I am very proud to have them both still. God bless you, Pete. Whatever wrongs you may have committed while on earth, the do-gooders made sure you paid for them till unfortunately your dying day. I pray sensible minds prevail and put you where your earthy work demands you to be, the Hall of Fame. There is nobody with a brain in their head, that could say after watching Pete Rose play baseball, that he EVER bet on the Reds to lose. No way, no how!

Years later when my Son began playing Little League baseball, I showed him a VHS tape of Pete Rose highlights.... "This Son is how you play baseball".

Rest in Peace Pete. He did a lot for base ball. I believe everyone deserves a second chance. Maybe now he will be inducted into the base ball hall of fame. Which he so rightly deserves. The big red machine is my all time favourite team. Kim
