pick a torsion bar

First off i have a 70 sport satellite with SB 408 alloy heads no sway bar. It originally came with a 318 so does anyone know the size of the torsion bars in those. This is a street car 99% so i want to improve the handling. I'm thinking of firm feels 1.00 or 1.06 torsion bars with their 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 sway bar.
Any suggestions much appreciated

I'm using the mopar .96 torsion bars on my 66 belvedere with a 440. The car handles great and really rides nice out on the highway. I've heard stories about the inch bars riding rough but I haven't use them. A decent ride was kind of important to me but I wanted it to handle decent too.
