Considering adding a slight rake to my 69 Charger. I've been told to check out: Mopar Performance Springs. Anyone got picts of their Charger with these or any other rear suspension springs that they are willing to share? Thanks! Ross

I prefer plastic over wicker and metal.

I went with the HD springs on my Road Runner several years ago and if I remember correctly they raised the rear up about 3/4" from the old stock ones. The originals had 92,000 miles on them so probably were sagging somewhat. Also bought a set for my 69 Charger project but am not to the point of installing them yet. Have you tried adjusting your torsion bars with the current springs to see if you get the look you are after?

welcome to FBBO, sorry I don't own a 69 Charger, have owned a few in the past, a new spring will raise the rear about an 1" to an 1-1/2" until it settles slightly, compared to a 44 y/o original saggy leaf springs, the Mopar Performance Extra Heavy Duty leaf springs like on Hemi cars, from Mancini Racing MRE19811982 $230, add an additional 1" arch built into them, until they settle a little... I think Richard Cranium {alias Dick Head}, has some on his beautifully Restored 68 Hemi Charger R/T below... not sure where he got his thou

One truck leaf was inserted on each side. Got them from Summit and cut them to fit. Gave it just the needed boost.

Other than new band clamps, mine are original.

yeah I figured that DH, I was just referring to the type of XD spring & not that it was new or not... Because I used your very cool car photo..

you change out the rear springs when they sag.you adjust rake angle with your front tortion bars as stated.

Just so I understand, you mess with the front to make a minor adjustment to rake? There were no alignment, tracking or any other issues after adding a leaf. Glued at 100. Straight. Header flanges and catch under certain sonditions so I don't want it any lower in the front.

I ordered a complete suspension kit from Just Suspension, they make all leaf's to order "anyway you want" mine are XD with a 1" drop.
