I need to have a few plastic dash parts from a Dodge Demon, chrome plated. It seems like no one can do these parts. To small of a job or very expensive. My question is, has anyone had any experience with spray coatings from a spray can? I know it's not going to look exactly like chrome but some of this stuff might look close. I just wonder if anyone has used any of these and is there one that's is better than another. Thanks for any help.

Usually the rattle can stuff doesn't even come close. The best do-it-yourself product I've seen was a two part system (base/clear) from a hobby shop, sadly, I don't recall the brand. You would spray the base, allow it to dry, buff to a shine and then clear over it. It looked great but was very labor intensive.

Look into "killer chrome". It's a spray bomb and some guys over on FABO have had excellent results.

I have used a chrome paint on the edges of the grille egg crate structure of my old 71 Ranchero (Torino) and from 5 feet away it looked just fine. On a dash where you are more up close you will know for sure it's not chrome but if done well it can make for a really cool look.

Sending you a PM with contact info from two model car plastic chrome platers I know of.
Good luck, John
