Headlight relay kits that are essentially plug and play.

There is a substantial increase in voltage at the headlight, increasing light output performance. Light output degrades exponentially with voltage input reductions. These kits also take headlight amp loads off the fragile bulkhead connector, headlight switch and amp gauge. The only headlight load flowing through the bulkhead is a minimal current required to trigger relays.

The kit includes:
Bosch/Tyco relays (no 1$ chinese relays)
Ceramic headlamp sockets
Fuses/fuse holders
12ga wire from alt to relays
12 or 14 gauge power wire from relays to headlight wiring (no 16-18 gauge wire like factory, except 16ga to trigger relays)
All terminals for hook up to a std 1/4 alt stud and ground locations
Wiring would follow normal wiring harness paths and be covered with black shrink tube for most of the run lengths.

Road lamp relay kit is not included in the standard 2 and 4 headlight kits. There is an additional charge for a road lamp relay kit.

The kits I've built have relays mounted on the yoke (front or rear), under the battery tray and inner fender uprights.

Another benefit that most users see are an improvement in dash light and marker light/turn signal brightness.

Some other things to consider.
Unless you buy wire in bulk, you'll have about $40+ before tax in different colored wire packages from a local auto store.

All kits I build are tested prior to shipping.

Kits for a 2 headlight vehicles are $130 + shipping.

Most 4 headlight vehicles are $150 + shipping.

The assembled kits fit nicely in a USPS flat rate box, shipping in the US would be in the $10-15 range. International shipping is available. Kits have been shipped to Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and a few other countries. Most all shipping is done via US Postal Service unless other service is requested.

Kits with all products and wire required to build one yourself are $85 for a 2 headlight and $100 for a 4 headlight + shipping.

Got a custom harness from Rob with extra relays/connections for daytime running lights. Haven't had a chance to install it yet but it's solid and a nice looking wiring harness.

Are those using the same bulbs, just with your wiring setup?

Yes same headlights, just swapped in the wiring kit.

What the user wrote.
I think there is a huge difference visible from the before and after pictures but the difference you experience when driving the car for the first time after the upgrade is much stronger than what can be catched by a camera.

All I can say is that your headlight harness is the most bang for the buck that I've spent on my 68. The harness fit right behind the original across the radiator support. After installation I drove around the sub at midnight. But didn't stop there, for the low/high beams I got some Hella H4 Single High/Low Beam Headlamp w/halogen 60/55, and for the high beams just some basic sylvania sealed beam Halogens. The combination is perfect, low beam driving is sweet and the high beams are spot on.

Since I live 20 miles out of town having adequate lighting is a must. I have a 500 hp 451, and now I have a 500 hp lighting system to match. This upgrade is a must. And here is the deal--the harness is plug and play so if you want to roll back the upgrade to sell your 'original numbers matching' beauty just unplug it and throw in the old headlights. Done. :headbang:

Green arrows are the additional groundwires. I located the relay block passenger-side just behind the headlamps on the inner fender, so there is just a short run to the alternator. The black wire is the harness going back to the driver-side beams. These work Awesome and craftsmanship on them are first rate.. I have worked and know Rob for many years, he is top notch!

Well worth the investment, plus you can annoy Prius owners with better headlight out put too!
 
Just want to say Im about to order for my 72 runner, plus a starter relay bypass kit. I consider both a must.

Arrived a couple days ago. Hope to put them in this weekend.
The starter relay bypass goes straight from the alternator post to the relay I assume, and it looks like it has a fusible link built in?
And the headlight relay also attaches straight to the starter relay post, the brown wire to ground, and the black ring terminated wires adjacent to the headlamp connectors also to ground?

may i ask, what does the starter relay kit do?how does it effect the power stream? has anyone determined how much power is diverted from the main lines with the headlight relay kit,or maybe i worded that wrong or how will this effect the bulk head power surge.i am interested in doing the headlight kit myself and even the starter relay kit after i find out what exactly the purpose is for that kit.

The headlight relay kit removes headlight load, except for the minor current needed to trigger relays, from your bulkhead and headlight switching items (switch, dimmer and wire).

The bypass wiring re-routes the charging system away from the bulkhead and ammeter. no more in and out through bulkhead. The current goes straight to the starter relay and up to your battery. The way Mopar did the charging system was not the best approach and ammeters are a pretty worthless gauge IMO, when you can use a voltmeter to monitor charging system performance.

Let me know when you would like a headlight kit or wire around set up. I build them to order and fit how the customer wants them to route.

You're welcome on the fusible link. Not a problem, had it here and the least I could do for the help with your pictures.

I can send a set of instructions for the relay kit. Your main power will attach at the starter relay since you went with a wire around approach. The rest hooks up the same as your Cuda. The other connections your wrote are correct.

Wire around goes direct from alternator charge stud to starter relay. Yes, it has a fusible link at the starter relay end.
