What is the difference between a plug boot and an HEI distributor boot? The plug boots I can get in 45 Deg but not as a distributor boot. I've got some 90 Deg plug boots that seem to snap and fit on the cap just fine.

The HEI boot is for the cap with the male stud on the cap, usually aftermarket ie MSD ect.

I understand that, but the plug boot fits on the HEI cap just fine. I can get a plug boot in different deg but not the cap boot. Is it wrong to use it this way???

The plug boot doesn't have the little spring clip to keep it tight, but as long as it goes on tight it should work. Jmo
