does any body know who makes a set of 8mm wires for a 1969 383 with stock HP manifolds.there should be 6 with a 90 degree boot and 2 with a straight boot

had that problem with a 68,could only find 7mm.ended up with msd wires i made myself with the bendable ends(could make any angle you need)

I make custom sets using MSD 8.5mm Superconductor wire.. no need to spend big bucks on wires. I offer heat protection options as well with them

You know you can buy Granatelli wires and he says they are dyno tested to make more power as well.. they are 0 ohm wire.. but the gods honest truth is there is no difference in premium wires and power being made.

MSD is 40 ohms of resistance per foot
Granatelli is 0
Fire Core?
Powercore?
Magnacore?

I've tested them all.. the only time you make more power with a wire is when your replacing a compromised wire. Granatelli sells an 8 inch wire for $180 and claims it make s20 more hp over a 40 ohm wire.... Its nothing but BS ! Firecore is no different than MSD or Grantellie or Morrosso or Taylor or any premium series wire.
I make wires all day long and work with a company who also makes wires and ignition components and actually get to see the real testing results with different coil and spark plugs and such....

The wire is only 10% of the resistance in the system... A better spark plug would yield better results than any wire as it represents most of the resistance in the system.

Then lets talk about cost.. how much for a set of those custom firecore wires?

I haven’t seen a legit engine dyno test done yet to prove any wire is better than another and I have been dong this for 8 years now. I don’t care what wire a person uses, I'm not all of a sudden going to be the wire king on this board but.......
I do know a thing or two about them and spending over $100 on a set of plain wires without heat protection is a complete waste of money. You don’t make more power with wires… unless they are over 4 ft long and then resistance could come into play. And I stress could... since most wire dont have a need to be 4 ft long testing really wasnt done beyond that

Lets talk about cost.
From the Custom Wire sets site.
"Factory Fit 440 8mm 250ohms" $80

Just an example. Check the site out or call/email Rick.

Not a $100 for custom MSD wires.
Nothing wrong with MSD wires though.

Summit Racing sells MSD 8.5mm wire sets for $62 to $87 plus shipping.

I would still consider Firecore wires from Rick at Custom Wire sets as mentioned before.

Summit sells them from 52 to 212 for MSD
MSD have 40 ohms resistance and are 8.5mm... The big difference I think is how long they last.. cheap wires do deteriorate quicker

How much money for a firecore set? Msd was $60 for an 8" each long 8 wires for an ls1 wire set and firecores are like $100 for the same wire...
Wasted money on something that does not add power is what it is...

MSd 32739 is what shows for his application and they are 96.95 plus shipping of 11.99
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-32739/

I offer the same set for $90 shipped.. Firecore.. my guess is like $160

Morrosso was the worst wire I have ever dissected. Taylor Thundervolts are closer in quality to an MSD but the terminals are where the main difference is and no one offers a double crimp system like MSD does.

When wires break its the terminal that breaks ( spark plug end) not the wire itself. MSD uses a double crimp system that does not break where others use a single that does break all the time if you maniuplate it to much.

Moroso Blue Max. I have used the same set since 1998.
