I've got a new to me 1964 440 with a poly 318 and AC. I paid a shop to redo the brakes on it, and a couple of minor things due to lack of time. I drove it home, and it was fine. I ran it for about 10 minutes to warm up the next day, shut it off to get into the trunk, and it wouldn't start, no power at all.

I just swapped in a new battery, and shortened up the way too long battery cables. Car starts and runs, but i noticed they had the alternator belt on the rear pulley, and it looked out of alignment. I moved it up to the front pulley, and it is way closer to being aligned straight, but the belt is very close to making contact with the AC bracket.

I'm not sure if it has the wrong pulley, or if the AC bracket is aftermarket and doesn't fit quite right. Thinking about clearancing the back of the AC bracket slightly. Any thoughts from guys that own AC cars?

I should add, that picture makes the belt look out of alignment on the front pulley, but its just the angle of the picture. It's way closer to straight on the front than on the back.

Nevermind, i think i got it. Added a washer to push the inner groove out a bit.
