So I've got the Schumacher locking poly engine mounts for my "beefed" up 440 and also have a poly tranny mount. My racer buddy said I shouldn't use all poly mounts on the drive line as I'm likely to break something along the way, and should use a rubber mount at the tranny for more give.

Anybody else using all poly mounts at the engine and tranny? Any issues? I don't care about the vibration. I know some guys were using one poly engine mount and one rubber mount.

I've had the same 3 Schumacher mounts you are talking about on my Road Runner for 4 years now with no problems, and have the same setup siting in the garage waiting to go into my Charger R/T.

those Schumacher mounts should be fine.... the only "downside" would be the harsher ride..
I have the OEM rubbermounts ( all 3 )...and added the torque strap from Schumacher... this item has urethane bushings... I changed them .. into rubber bushings.. because of the rougher ride... ( even if it only was a little rougher )

yer "racer buddy" is an idiot...the only issue you may have is a little more vibration in yer "butt meter"....running them will be fine

Well he's a Chevy guy, and after seeing how wimpy the Chevy tranny crossmember is compared to my Bee's crossmember, perhaps I will be fine. He was concerned that the tranny crossmember was the weak spot and that would be the thing to go.

Been running the poly mounts in all brands for years and never had a problem.

Hehehehehehe!

I run the Dynatech Lock mount on the drivers side and an OEM rubber mount on the passenger (cuts down on vibration). Tranny is a rubber mount. No torque straps. No broken mounts, 696 FT Lbs Torque. Good luck.

**** dude, I used standard rubber mounts on my race car for over 10 years (with torque strap of course) Car goes high to mid 10's. Never broke a trans mount or crossmember and I even cut the outer mounting ears off the crossmember for easier trans removal.

Here is the scoop on the mounts from Schumacher. Just got off the phone with Schumacher. I have a customer car at the shop that has the mounts that have failed(see Pics). Schumacher recommends making a heat shield over the mount if you are running TTI headers. They are close to the mount and the heat will ruin the urethane. Schumacher is covering the mounts under warranty.
