I have a 1964 Fury with the 318 poly and pushbutton 727. I'm considering swapping the engine for a B or RB. I am wondering if I can keep the pushbutton 727? I've heard that the bellhousing will bolt up except for one bolt, and that there might be a problem with the hub on the end of the crank. True? Or should I just go with a later year tranny?

What's involved in the swap? I've heard that the K-member will work, but different mount brackets are needed. Junkyard stuff? I went to the engine-swap website. Lots of stuff for sale there but no real info. Can anyone advise me? Thanks!

You need a big block bell housing. You can use your tail housing. You need big block mounts for the motor.

Big block 62-64 push button trans that the easy way to do it.No added expense.Small block trans will not work.

Sounds like what was done to my S. F.;413 and a 727 out of a big Chrysler were transplanted in place of a 318. Mine has the floor shift;different trans than a -button style,I think(guys, correct me here if I'm wrong). My motor mounts don't look like typical B-body big-block mounts(spool-type),and since it's getting the tran$ rebuilt,I can't get pics for you-she's not here. Try Shumacher or Mancini for mounts;if I hadn't already committed to the trans rebuild, and if they were the same(P-B vs. floor-shift),I would have had a decent core that may have been of interest.

OK,where's the pics of this fine ride?:confused::confused: We have our own little "1964" sub-culture here, and pics are a must!

63-65 small and big block motor mounts are the same
