I rebuilt the front suspension with all new parts a few years ago. I don't recall whether I greased the torsion bar ends. Could that be the cause of the popping sound at low speeds?

Could be. Also check the torque on the upper control arm nuts.

I had the car aligned after I rebuilt the front suspension. So, you might think they would torque everything down. But I'll check to make sure.
