We got our hands on a pair of MP 452 heads. The same ports as the Edelbrock RPM head but with a straight sparkplug thread. The plug thread protrusion is shifted over towards the intake valve and shrouds the flow a little. But still a nice head. These are the flows we got using the stock 440 port window and the original 2.14/1.81 valves.

Lift.............OOTB IN/EX.............Ported IN/EX

.100..................70/57...................75/60
.200................145/112...............153/128
.300................205/163...............218/172
.400................245/197...............265/211
.500................260/217...............295/242
.600................276/231...............309/264
.700................281/239...............322/280

More than 650 horsepower potential there.

SO with flows like that, when it comes to header choices, what would suffice?
I know a shorty would kill some H/P off, but to what extent?
Is a 1 7/8" primary big enough or is a guy going to want a 2" or even a 2 1/8" step header?

I am always amazed by these #'s, looks like you guys have things down to a science!

COOL BEANS MAN!
