So I was at my loacl Lowes, looking for some fabrication materials.

I had a tub of parts from the garage, and was picking out steel stock and large nuts bolts and washers when this "associate" comes to ask if he could help me. Looked like he might have been mid to late 20's

He takes a moment to try to figure out what I'm doing and then asks. I tell him I bought a car with slotted bumpers and I'm trying to make an adaptor so I can use my air lift bumper jck with the slotted bumpers.

He says- slotted bumpers- must be an old one.

It's a 73 Satellite I said. In the parking lot.

He asked about the car and what I paid, etc.

As I was checking out, the guy walks by and says "that's a nice car".

See there is hope for the future generations after all.

The thing that always stikes me the most...Is when I am tooling around in a "neighborhood" how many kids yell out "nice car!"

I think because all they have ever known are modern cars that all look alike. They see something that is so wildly different making sweet v8 music they just can't help but take notice. And they are usually all smiles. Even the little girls pay attention. Which to me is hilarious.

I get it all the time from the kids around here. "Cool car. What is it?" The most heard comment is "wish I could afford one of these."

Best words I heard this summer came from a couple of kids maybe 10 years old, walking across the street while I was stopped at a light. They both stared and then shot their thumbs up and one yelled, "American muscle! Yeah!" :)
