Power steering box and pump

I installed a rebuilt power steering box and pump long ago but never filled the system. Now I want to use it. How would you proceed?

I would add some fluid and let it run down. Next day add some and start it up.

Also the PS cavitates pretty easy so slower is better. Take your time watch the above video.

Thanks, that brought back some old memories. I was also concerned with rust in the gearbox from sitting. Lots of humidity in Florida.
