Where can I get info about rebuilding the power steering gear in my 64 Belvedere? I have a box and a complete rebuild kit and I want to replace all the seals etc before I put the box in. Same for the pump itself.

Im not trying to talk you out of rebuilding your box but maybe something to think about. To my surprise Autozone had a remanufactured power steering box for my 70 Superbee for $99 with an exchange. They are the last place that I thought would carry it, & the price is not bad either.Plus it came with a warranty.

Problem is, I'm 500 Miles north of the nearest Auto Zone. Are these boxes the same as the 65? My buddy has an FSM for the 65 Belvedere II.

You could order it from their website, thats how I found out that they carried them. Because every time I go inside their store & mention parts for a Superbee they think Im talking bout a Volkswagon.

Shipping cross border is murder. I would have to pay Bondage and Duty and federal tax which would more than double the price. Then I have to ship the old one back. Not worth it.

Where did you find it for $99? I just checked out their website and it was about $208 or something like that with a $52 core charge. Help out the brothers if you know something we don't.

From my dealings with Auto-zones "Dura-Crap" line of parts, you might be best rebuilding it yourself! I'd advise you to try it! Pulling the pulley is the hardest part, and you can rent the tool from them.

The steering box I purchased was for a 70 Coronet/Superbee. It may be different than earlier models, not sure bout that though. Purchased it through my local Autozone.

Thanks for the info. I also priced it for a 70 coronet, but I didn't check in the store. Prices sometimes vary from day to day or place to place.

I have the pulley removal tool. The pump I'm not worried about it's the box itself. I pretty much want to freshen the seals so it won't be leaky.
