A few months ago I posted looking for a power steering column for a 68 Runner, I had a couple of responses. This would be for a conversion from manual to power. One of the responses directed me to an area yard that may have one, but he is usually double what everyone else is. So I am still looking. Another question I have is, would there be a factory or after market conversion kit that would have the full assembly including the column?:headbang:

All you need is the shaft, not the whole column. I would think that it would be a fairly easy item to obtain. Have you put a want ad on here in the classifieds?

Thanks for the idea!! I haven't put out an add et for this, to be honest I have not figured out how as yet. I will be looking into it though! Thanks again.

I did this swap on my '70 Road Runner and Richard is correct.... all you "must" have is the center shaft. You cannot use the Mancini adapter (used for power to manual swaps). The easiest way is to just find a power steering column that matches your interior color. The shaft can be swapped over between two columns in an afternoon if necessary. Every other part you need can be purchased at AutoZone/O'Reilly/Advance/NAPA

I am wanting to convert from manual to power steering, I have most of the parts lined up but I would like to find the shaft or the column.

Try Mike over at moparts.com. His screen name is 1970_EK2AAR. He has steering shafts & columns ready to go from what he told me.
