Power to Manual Windows?

Hello all!

My appologies if this has already been beaten to death, but my 70 Satellite convertible has power windows and roof. I am now quite officially sick and tired of trying to figure out WHY nothing works. I think I narrowed it down to the electrical relay for the roof and windows.

I would much rather switch to a manual roof and crank windows. Is this even possible? Are the door frames for power and manual windows the same? Is it just a case of swapping out the hardware? Has anyone done this?

Then, if it REALLY is too much work, does anyone know where I might find a suitable window / roof electrical relay? There is a 5 prong, 30 amp one available from Year One - might that one work?

I really hope someone can help me...

There are always problems with 40 year old power windows. There are aftermarket systems out there that convert manual windows to power and the switches are activated with the original window cranks and all looks stock. I don't know if these systems will retro fit to a factory power window car or not but it might be worth looking into.

good luck on that it will probably be harder to do that than go manual to power plus you will have to scrounge the parts they wont come in a kit. If you cant nail it down try a local car stereo shop. I did that for over 20 years and worked with some guys up north they are pretty sharp, ask around first and see who the top shops are, they would love a good challenge, and it will still be much chepar i'm sure good luck

Well, I think I figured it out. Looks like it's the electrical relay that's under the dash. I'm going to try to find a replacement...anyone have any ideas where they can be found? I haven't had any luck thus far...
