Powertrax Loc Rite? Anyone use it, Pros/Cons

I think Eaton makes the powertrax Loc Rite you can put in an open carrier. I looks like a locker only smaller. Anyone know anything about them? I found a few reviews but wounder if anyone here has tried it. I found a couple of truck danas locally and a shop in the area will cut to size put billit dodge endsthat use the larger ford bearings and assemble with alloy axles for 900. with the Powertrax unit that will put me right at my $1500 budget. I still need to check a couple of other shops but this one responded first.

I've had a lock rite in the front rear of my diesel drag truck it's a tank

For the price, I’d install a power lock and be done with it.

I agree 5.7, but set up costs and added installation parts will drive up the total. The powertrax unit installs in place of the spider gears eliminating the need to set up the gears. I’m still trying to work out The many details involved in any project. If money wasn’t an issue I would just buy one complete and be done. Just looking for info at this time. Thanks

Well if your gonna use a truck Dana, your gonna be cutting/welding and all that stuff has to come out anyway. So it will need to be set back up anyway. If your shop doesn’t pull all that stuff out to narrow it, find another shop or bring to me and I’ll do right, set up correctly and all for nothing.....well maybe some Mtn Dew.

Who makes the power lock you mentioned. Is it a clutch type unit?

Yes, it’s clutch type and they can be found on eBay or I’d call Dr. Diff, get the 35 spline. They run around 380-425 depending on whom you buy from.

I didn`t read all these posts, but I had the powerlock in a 600 horse sbc vega, it wouldn't hold it. Ended up going w/ full spool. Sold the powerlock for $50 to an offroader.
