Praying for Folks in Tennessee

Middle of the night those storms came. The poor folks over in the center of the state,
where the land is very flat, always get the worst of it.
Nashville and Cookeville areas were hit hard and a couple dozen folks are known deceased;
hundreds injured, more missing still.
The storm came when most folks were asleep in bed. Just awful.
By the time they got over this way, our ridges were busting them up enough to get some
of the energy out of them. That's how weather typically goes in this state...
We got thunderstorms, high winds, some hail. Nothing in comparison to those folks west of here.
I've said several prayers for them and will continue to do so until all are accounted for.

We had a fabulous lightning storm, some winds and 3/4" of rain in the northwest corner but middle Tennessee got slammed.

Dodged a bullet this time but haven't always been that lucky; an F3 wiped out a quarter of the shop a few years ago and Katrina in 2005 is still a vivid memory.

Kinda feel like there's a bull's eye on my back.

You're over there in the flatlands and in proximity to the Mississippi. Memphis and such are known "magnets" for
the twisters, the way the weather operates over yonder....
One doesn't hear of tornados in mountainous areas of the country; there's a reason for that.

last tornado we had up in the hills of tennessee about 7 years ago ripped through an area known as Camp creek and it was bad.

My deepest heartfelt condolences goes out to Tenn.
& all those actually affected by these storms/Tornadoes

RIP to all the poor victims :praying:

for those rebuilding your life & homes
I hope you will be made whole again

Middle of the night,,,can't even imagine. My thoughts and prayers to those affected.

We were there right after that one (and come to find out, that put us in FRONT of the next tornado - there
was a total of 3 all in a row that night!). I've seen several after-effects of tornados over the years, but that
one that hit Camp Creek was the strongest I've ever seen.
It was so strong that it pulled up asphalt from roads!
Total levelling of everything.... unreal.

That is terrible.

Yeah.
Out here in the flat regions it is F I R E that we have to deal with. Even then, you don't get much warning.
