I found this on the pallet of heads at an auction I won. Looks a a variable Venturi. Tall bastard.

I never ran one 'or 2', seen quite a few back in the day
circa 1980's
around Sacramento & Fremont Raceway, 'fugly ***' carbs too
 
I found one at a swap meet, was tempted to run it, but decided to make it the center piece on my coffee table:lol:
 
I don’t care what “Better” Homes and Gardens say, or any of those other magazines, this is how you decorate a coffee table.

A decent carb, but a lot of people were put off by the boxy looks. Most of the people who didn't like them were people who hadn't used them. Parts are still made for it.

But you have to ask yourself why did the guy get rid of it?
 
I think they came and went with stripes like this on Pro Street cars.
