Well I'm finally getting around to starting my build thread on my 70. Originally a satellite being cloned to a road runner. But since it'll never be a real road runner it's a dead bird. It's going to have a 440, a 833 4 speed and I have the 489 410 sure grip in it. I'm having the road runner decals custom made so it's a road runner skeleton. Still stripped the entire interior. Have to replace the front floor boards, add the 4 speed hump. And smooth the fire wall. Also fab a trunk pan center. Replace the rear lower quarters, patch the upper wheel wells, knock some debts out of the fenders. Replace the pass side inner fender, and weld in my us car tool subframe connectors. Plus other goodies. I'll try to keep updating with a lot more pictures.

So I got the Brewers performance 4 speed pedal swap and... Need to know what do I do about my brake light switch?

She looks pretty solid and I like the skeleton bird idea, that should be pretty cool!

thanks, yeah she's a pretty solid car. just has the normal rust spots like the front floorboards, rear lower 1/4's, i need to start knocking out these front floors so i can start smoothing the firewall.

Little update. It's been raining the past few weekends so haven't been able to do much but last weekend I picked up my 833 trans and it came with a bigblock aluminum bell housing. And Thursday I got my hurst pistol grip shifter in the mail. It came off an original 4 speed 70 road runner. Picking up a 440 tomorrow.

Also got in a set of hooker competition headers. 1 7/8" primaries with a 3" collector. And they're jet coated black. Paid $277 brand new and it came with the gaskets and hardware. Not bad.

LOL. I bet you made engine sounds and pretended to shift when you got the pistol grip shifter...

C'mon admit it! (I know my wife laughed at me and my buddy having a great time with just the shifter!)

Just picked up the 440 for Dead Bird. Sadly it's got a cast crank. Have looked at the heads but I was told it was pulled from a 74 trail duster. Hopefully has flat top pistons and isn't 8.1 compression. Hopefully cam , intake aluminum water pump. And a full msd ignition.

Put together most of the 440
Just have the headers on for display. She should sound nasty when she fires up

Burns69RT: You asked about the brake light switch. Have you thought about using a hydraulic switch that attaches directly to the master cylinder or a remote block? It eliminates any need to confirm adjustments at the pedal & crawling under the dash. This is what Wilwood includes in their kits.
Great work !! Looks like you're doing everything first-class. Remember: It's about having fun !!!

Yeah I checked into that, then I decided it'd take me 5 min to make a longer bracket out of scrap metal at my shop. And thanks for the compliment! I do it for a living so I like to take pride in what I do. I put the 440 mostly together, minus p/s because I'm waiting on my brackets to come in from 440 source.
