Hey everyone
Need some help here, until i get the decoding done, I have no way to be sure how my 69 bee was equipped, if it had dog dish i have them already with the date coded rims. My biggest question is if I put magnum 500's on which ones are correct..... chromed, or trim ringed???? I have seen both & need some help before I go out & buy a set
Thanks
Tony

The ones with rings are more correct.

let me add to that. Supposedly you couldn't order a 69 with the chrome road wheels, only the beauty ringed ones. So that's why I say "more" correct

Depending on how your Bee was ordered and what motor/options are on it there is no way to know what wheels it left the factory with unless you have the buildsheet. Most likely it will have either 14" road wheels or 14" rims with hubcaps. 69 Runner is correct. you couldn't get chrome Magnums on a 69 Bee. Chance of the car coming from the factory with steelies and beenies are pretty slim. I'll looks for some pics. in my files to post. The 14" roadwheel is my favorite!

14" magnums with the trim ring would be the deal for 1969, as '69 RR said. I have truly seen more "dog dish" hub caps in the 80's-90's and beyond than I ever saw in 1969. Hemi "B" bodies in the late 60's had 15" rims while 383-440 Super Bees/R/T's had 14's and always with magnum type wheels. Only thing I recall different that that on a B Body would be the full wheel covers on Hemi cars and plain black rims with chrome lug nus on 15" rims for the Six Pack cars. Did any ever get a 1969 RR or Super Bee (non Hemi or Six Pack) with Dog dish hub caps from the factory??

Road wheels with the ring were the highest priced but most common option for the Super Bee in 69! Steel wheels BODY COLORED with hub caps were standard equipment.
A full wheel cover, deep dish wheel cover & simulated mag wheel cover were optional
using BLACK STEEL WHEELS. Those were the 14 inchers now the 15s hub cap or a "finned" full wheel cover... From back in the day road wheels were most prominent, next a toss between hub caps or a plain full wheel cover. We always here the stories of the few 15 in cast aluminum road wheels which were recalled. Six-Pack were the neat chrome lug nuts on black steel wheels.
I ordered my Bee w/ road wheels but prefer to not install the trim rings, thus a black wheel. Had I to do it today maybe I'd just have ordered full wheel cover driving it w/o the cover & use chrome lug nuts. Wheel cover cars were more numerous than thought because the bean counters under estimated demand for road wheels. I remember a couple wheel cover cars as my dad sold Dodges. 1)med green, white vinyl roof, 4spd w/ center seat
Coro RT w full wheel cover & Track Pack formally a test track car & exceptionally fast. Another car a SB hdtp in silver red stripe, red bucket & console, 8 track, pw, & aiir making it a 330 hp 383. Neither car had scoops. Yellow
plain RR & brze RR both coupes
