I've got a 1973 Charger SE 400 BB front disc/rear drum I have been looking at proportional valves on line none of them come close to oem's any one have advice on what to buy . I have no way to rebend lines if these after market ones don't fit the same. I'd rather just stick with oem if any knows where I can get one I'd appreciate it.

I have a place that rebuilds your original but they cannot say 100% till they inspect yours...pm me for that contact info if you need it...

Some of those proportioning valves have rebuild kits available & moparnation has a good idea as well. On my '70, I bought a reproduction proportioning valve & metering valve (2-piece in '70) from Inline Tube just because I was buying stainless brake lines from them. The proportioning valve was bad. Bought another on Ebay, same style, also bad. It cost me a rear end accident with a Lexus. I should have kept my "little bit dirty" original one which was working just fine. That was a lesson learned.

I've been trying to find a rebuild kit but they don't show a pic of the brake valve so I'm not sure if the kit is for my particular brake valve.

That is why I just send mine to the experts...

I also would like my original proportioning valve rebuilt, don't want the 'brass block'. Can you tell me what a good resource is?
thank you,

I have this one sitting in the garage collecting dust. Never been on a car. PM me if interested.

What you have is a Combination valve. Center section is the distribution block with warning indicator switch. L shaped is the proportioning valve for the rear brakes on cars with disc on front. V shape at other side is metering valve for the front disc.

Drum drum do not have proportioning valves, just the brass distribution block with warning. Weatherhead made them.

If doing yourself as posted MCR sells the kit, same place Brake Warehouse gets the kit. I do think one of the major manufactures on West Coast also has tech show that can rebuild some of the original ones, but that was years ago with leftover parts. The combination valve is the easier to work on. Those 70 meter valves cannot be disassembled without special socket since the assembly is peened in to crush into the threads. But the combination valve comes apart easy.
