Hi guys i need some help, while bleeding the rear brakes on my 74 Satellite the brake light indicator came on and hasn't turned off. Reading on the site here it sounds like the shuttle in my proportioning valve reacted and shut off the one end? Is this correct?

Is there anything i can do to fix it? Or do i just need a new valve? Having a hard time finding a match for the valve i have? Would one off my donor car work? Thanks for any help!

You can try opening bleeder on opposite end that caused it and hit brakes progressively harder till light goes out
but some times it is jammed from old age
some people have been able to remove switch and hook a blade screw driver in slot and shift back
try not to damage threads
good luck

We just did my rear brakes and had the same problem. Fixed by opening the RF bleeder and spiking the brakes a couple of times.

Thanks BM02TJ and GTX! How much did you open the bleeder? I imagine pretty wide open to make the shuttle move? Ill give that a try first.

If that doesnt work ill either try the one on my donor or try opening up that one that is on the car now.
