Pulling out the 318 Poly out of my '64 Dodge - any tips on the easiest way to do it?
With or without tranny?
How do you disconnect the tranny push button and parking cables anyhow?
The FSM is kinda vague...
Any tips in general?
... thanks!

Depends on why you're pulling it? Swap to a big block or just rebuilding the poly. If not changing the whole setup leave the trans in the car! There are 2 clips that hold the cables in the trans! Park cable is on the tail shaft, remove the allen plug and 7/16 nut holding cable in! insert small screw driver along the cable push spring out while pulling on cable,Drive cable is similar procedure remove bolt holding cable into trans.pull cable out and push the spring to the side! Sounds complicated but it's not! the hard part is readjusting the cables afterwards.

Thanks Steve! I'm swapping in another identical 318 Poly with lower miles and running better... will probably re-build the present one and stick it in a 60s Dodge pickup.

i find it much easyer to pull the trans and eng as a unit.much easyer assembly to put back in.good tip is to jack up the rear of the car as high as possible and then pull assembly.allows for a bunch more room when pulling.
