Last Saturday night I managed to blow the living crap out of my radiator (weak anti-freeze, very cold, etc, etc). I found a brand new Spectre rad on Amazon.com for 90 bux, only 2 left, regularly $405 so I had the lovely, beautiful, and talented Mrs Yuma order it for me because she has more perks thru AmazonPrime. Anyway, later in the day I notice an Amazon banner here on FBBO hawking that same radiator for $236, and then again later for $250. My question is this: Do they always raise the price as the supply goes down? They didn't know I'd already bought the thing because the smart, sexy, and delightfully quirky Mrs Yuma had done it on her computer. Does it pay off to jump on a deal right away, is that why they do it? Just wondering cuz I don't shop there very often.

Amazon runs what they call "Lightning deals" they usually last an hour or until supplies run out. They offer deep discounts on a particular item, it's possible you purchased it under that.

Amazon also acts as a market place for a number of smaller companies, when you search for an item Amazon will often find one with the lowest combined price, but there are "More buying options" where other sellers are offering the same items. There may be a particular vendor you like, better shipping speed, or other reasons to choose those vendors over the one automatically selected. It's possible you bought it from a vendor who was clearing inventory and once they sold out, the next cheapest vendor had the prices you saw.

Good explanation JamieZ !!
-That explains why i was able to purchase a set of GearHead "Flexible Werench set-S.A.E" for $38.00 one day.
-I went back the next day and it was fluctuating between $85 and $105 for the same set.
