QA1 Adj Strut Question

For those that have installed the QA1 strut rods, is it supposed to fit loosely into the LCA hole and just the torque of the bolt holding it in place? Factory strut rods have a tapered end to hold them in position with the bolt. The QA1 rods have just the threads (same diameter threads). See the picture below for comparison of the two. I just want to make sure I’m not missing something here.

The taper is necessary so the rod doesn't turn as you tighten the nut. The QA1 rod has that nut on the opposite side so you can hold it with a wrench while you tighten it into the LCA.
