I've got a 70 Coronet R/T. When I first bought the car I thought that it had a factory rear sway bar until some detective work lead me to realize it is in fact a discontinued addco bar. (I thought it was OEM since the undercoating is applied over the frame rail brackets) This car has every single other option imaginable except for the base R/T powertrain (440/auto/3.23 non-SG)

One of the brackets where the end links bolt thru is broken and I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for something that worked other than how addco designed it which is not exactly the best.

I found this old thread on another forum where someone has the same one. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php?topic=62192.0

Attached is a picture of the lower link bracket I have that isn't broke. it's essentially just a piece of 3/8" thick strap with two holes, one to go thru the Leaf Spring U-Bolt and another for that the sway bar end link passes thru.

Any Ideas on a better solution other than making another one of these brackets?

FWIW, I made sure and took the picture with my flip flops in the picture for Freiburger if he ever see's it :)

A piece of 1/4" angle iron should fix that problem. Back in the day the addco stuff always broke the brackets, bad metal maybe? Who knows, you would think it would rip out of the frame first. I think a guy could also taper the holes in the bracket a little bit to let the bushings move a little easier at full extension and rebound, kinda like the bar end is shaped.

So I got tired of having this on my repair list and decided to get after it. I made new tabs out of thicker metal and all I need to do now is buy new end links, drill the hole in the tab for where the end links pass thru it, and bolt them on. Then when it's all on, I need to get under the car with a cut-off wheel and cut the U-Bolts down so they're not looking for something to snag.

Got the Moog K700534 end links delivered today so I bolted up my hokey tabs. I'm not happy with the angle of them so I'm thinking about buying some new U Bolt spring plates and welding on a gusseted tab that moves the sway bar end link forward and perhaps angles it a tad to not put so much deflection into the bushings. I must say that the Moog K700534 end links feel like pretty good quality and they're made in the US of A which is a huge plus...can't beat them for the price of $6 each on Amazon either. I ordered 4.5" ones and perhaps should have gotten 5" or 5.5" ones.
