Realistically, how much can an iron MP hemi block handle without coming apart? I am running a cap girdle and very good crank, rods, etc. and have not been able to find anyone who has really pushed one of these blocks. Any info??? Thanks in advance! BTW, the motor is forced induction ;).

MARK, realitically i know you can go around 1100 hp with no issues.
i'm at 830 hp now and going to around 1000 hp over the winter.i run a iron MP Hemi block.
i have 3 friends goind with 1150 hp and still running strong.hope this helps

Thank you! This helps a TON! All I've heard is old timers saying "any more than 800hp and it'll come apart", yet none of them have pushed one that far. An experienced opinion is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks Chris. BTW, did that lock make it to you ok?

I use a siamesed MP iron block and know of a few on alcohol pushing over 1200 hp with over 1100 tq.I expect to see well over 1100 hp with my blown hemi:grin:

LOL, from what I read.... just look it over REALLLLLLY good! Congrats on getting it back, though! What heads are you running, if you don't mind telling me?

Stock iron heads that have been bowled.Port matching was discussed but I doubt they were touched.

Wow! Impressive with the old irons! We only run 1/8 mile down here, but I had my Fury running low 6.70's with iron block, iron 915 heads, six pack rods, and factory forged crank... all with a pushbutton tranny leaving it in DRIVE. That car has been retired and put back to a street cruiser and now I'm on project blown Coronet. Should be extremely mean when I get it done :D.

LOL, well she's under construction right now, but here are some pics before she went under the knife....

VERY NICE MARK!
i love the two tone rede with white top, great accent!

Thanks Chris! Should be a good looking piece when I get it done. LOL, you know how many people tried to talk me outta keeping it two tone? I like it that way, though. Like you said, it accents it well.

Dart heads, magnesium intake, and you can see the magnesium case 14-71 on the bench behind that is going on top. Have a magnesium buzzard catcher coated in black chrome to top it all off. Thanks for the compliment!
