I am in the middle of replacing my 440 with a 472 crate hemi and am down to a few minor fitment items before I install in my 70 Satty. The current two that I could use some help with are the Trans dipstick and the power steering hose.

In the picture below you can see I have to re-bend the trans tube to clear the bigger head. My question is should it be behind the head by the firewall, or beside the head by the fenderwell. I have seen some pics on here of very tight clearance on the fenderwell side. A picture would be very helpful.

The second Item is the power steering hose routing. I had my box redone by steer and gear and they supplied the new hose. It doesnt look right, way to long. Unless it is suppose run thru a fender mount? Again, a correct pic would be much appreciated.

My trans tube is against the firewall (it's a flex tube).

It'll be a couple days before I can check on the steering line length. It does seem way too long to my eyes.

thanks a lot. I will run mine behind the head too.

Well, I wound up routing the trans dipstick to the fender side of the head. After taking some measurements it was apparent the fan motor would block thebdipstick if Inran it brhind the head. If you look at the pic, you can see he green tape over the tube right below the fan motor. Maybe this will help someone else.
