I have what looks to be a broken mounting ear on my 727 case, is this a problem? Application is behind a big block in a 64 Dodge, don't know if it's even needed? Thanks

That's what I thought, so no issues then for the stock push button setup, correct?

You can see the pushbutton cable and adjusting wheel in your picture. They dont have anything to do with the broken ear.

Oh, ok, this is supposed to go to the trans shop tomorrow and I just wanted to make sure that this wasn't an issue for a bracket or something, otherwise I'd have to figure out a repair or find another case. Thanks again

Those are unused in the car, some guys use both sides to mount the trans on a rebuild rack.

Completely not used in my 62 Plymouth Sport Fury. Couldn't find anything in the 62 Dodge service manual on it either.

The 2 ears are used during manufacturing to locate the trans case during machining.
