I have a 66 Belvedere II with a stock 273 with solid lifters. Two of the valve lash adjuster screws are missing the ball tips. I can get replacement push rods pretty easily but I haven't found stock replacement adjusting screws. Does anyone know of a source?

I did find the Crane Cams adjusters (http://www.cranecams.com/322.pdf). Is that a drop-in replacement for the stock adjusters? Do the adjusters with a locknut stay in adjustment better than the stock parts?

Thanks,
Nick

The original adjusters are interference fit threads and yours no longer have interference, which is not uncommon. You might try sourcing the original adjusters from slant 6's at pick n pull or perhaps they may be available from Sealed Power. This of course assumes the threads in the rocker are in good shape. The aftermarket lock nut style should work fine too. No matter which direction you go make sure you have good thread engagement.
