Hey y’all. Let’s chat Quick Release Steering Wheels. I want to install one on my OE column 68 Charger for security.

Who has done it? Easy to do? Things to consider and any kits you’ve found that you like a lot? Feedback appreciated!

I was not aware that anyone made kits for mopar steering shafts that don't destroy them. Otherwise I have used a generic kit where you weld the removal hub onto the end of your steering shaft. Not pretty, but race car functional.

Hum, a missing steering wheel....that's what they make vice grips for.

Nothing I know of, that would look 'anything like stock'

racecars stuff, yeah lots of people make & have them
not specific to MoPars

may want to check local laws too, may not be legal on the street

We made mine and adapted it to my woodgrain steering wheel. I even made a billet bracket for the line lock and trans brake buttons.
