How much is a 14 ounce can of R 12 worth? I know a guy who has some.

Prices shot up 10 years ago but now most systems have been converted or replaced. There are many replacement refrigerants available for R-12 so finding someone that wants it is difficult.

In any event, I grabbed all that he had. Now I'm sitting on quite a few cans...

To bad your not in AZ. Look on Phoenix Craigslist auto parts R12. Pretty good market for it down here.

Is it legal to sell without some kind of credentials?

You also need a "dismantlers" license to sell used cars parts in New York. I'm sure the same or simliar holds true in other states. Interesting, that no is questioning those selling used parts on this or other sites...:banghead:

Last I saw, $10-30 a 14 oz can on CL. I believe it is not illegal to sell the existing product.

I have 2 cans that I would get rid of if anybody needs them.

It's the gooberments way of keeping tabs on us 'subjects'......and to collect taxes on ANY money you take in. It may be a local tax but if you make money, you will also own the feds too.
