Anybody else experience bad customer service from R/T Specialites? I DO NOT suggest anyone dealing with them!

I was actually going to be place an order with them soon. Why bad customer service?

I buy from Tom alot. Always answers the phone and is helpful. Fast shipping. I hear tell thats not always the case.

IF you get him to actually answer the phone, he's about worthless as tits on a bohr hog. I got a package floating around somewhere with parts I need I never recieved, probaly just because he wouldnt let me take a minute to spell my address for him. Called him up and after the third call, "well theres nothing I can do all I can tell ya is it shows its on the truck...its in your neighborhood somwhere." Thats been over a week.Hate spending money with someone who dont give a damn if you get your pckage or not, as long as they get their money..

What do you expect HIM to do? Before you answer think about as if you owned the business and it were your living.

I've always had a decent experience at rt specialties. Tom can be a little scattered, and I've waited a few days for something to be sent out his door. He has always been very helpful helping me track down many odds and ends.

I've used them several times and never had an issue either.....I'd be squawking at the carrier

Well for one, he can give me the firetrucking tracking number, and two he can stop being a penis, and three I hope you have the same problem one day. Thanks

For what it's worth, I have used R/T Specialties on several occasions over the years and never had even the slighest problem. Really nice guy. Hell, the last time, I had the parts before I even sent the $300 payment. Who does that these days?

I'll be using them again.

I've been in customer service, and I've been a contractor. I can tell you, there are always two sides to a story. The truth is usually in the middle. Sometimes there were simple problems, and the customer came at me full of piss and vinegar. Wanna guess how helpful I was to him? Best statement I ever used as a customer, or as the businessman, "What can WE do to fix this?"

Yes, it sounds like the OP here needs to understand that you will attract more bees with sugar rather than vinegar.

I just got my order today for my 70 Charger. Received my items fairly quickly. Did my inventory: only one item on back order. The Parts look like they are good quality. Sometimes things happen when you order stuff from a company. Customer service can decide the success or failure of a business in this economy.

I have ordered from him before and I have to say the guy is a fastener genius. We had a great chat on several occasions and quizzed each other about thread sizes on 60's MoPars - yeah, he won! This was going back more than a year and I have heard he can be very hard to get a hold of these days, especially if you are a vendor and need to fill orders. I know vendors that have given up on him and it's not because he's incompetent. However, as a hobbyist not pressed for time it's usually no big deal.

I'm a relative newbie and Tom's always been great. As long as he is not in the middle of something he has take the time to explain issues to me and differences in parts. Even if I need something small and seemingly insignificant, it's never been a problem.
