The late-great Cotton Owens....

I had the good fortune to meet Cotton Owens one day at his shop in Spartinsburg. Once in the early 90's I was looking for a Dana 60 truck axle, (Cotton loved the old Dodge trucks and had a small yard full of parts trucks). All the sign said was "Cottons garage".... Imagine my suprise when I walked in on a muesum quality stash of old Mopar race stuff. Hemi's on engine stands, old and new, lined the wall behind the counter and vintage racing parts of all sorts were all over.
A small elderly fellow with short white hair and "Cotton" on his shirt came out of the back room and greeted me. I reconized him right away.... What a suprise. I was employed by Jack Roush at the time and we hit it off and bench raced for some time.

A great memory
RIP Cotton...... You'll never be forgotten.
