I am redoing my 1974 Road Runner and the radiator overflow bottle is very yellowed stained. As I have not been able to find the same bottle that came on the car (can get new ones but they are different and require a bracket and is different than what my car came with - I bought the car brand new so the bottle on it is correct from the factory and it takes nobracket. Does anyone know how to clean and make the bottle look new again?

yeah.....to clean the inside...fill half with warm water and put about 4 tablespoons of salt in there and shake the hell out of it. might have to do that a few times

outside.....soak it in a 50/50 mix of bleach and water until its white. i just did this not too long ago and it got "clean-errrr"...but not brand new looking.

The salt idea is good for abrasive action, but adding a strong solution of OXI-CLEAN will work wonders.
