Looking to buy a new rad and not sure what I can use. It's a 64 Belvedere with a big block. I want a 3 core aluminum 22 inch wide. Does it matter where the top hose goes on? I am thinking that it doesn't as long as the bottom is one the driver's side. Any advice?

You can probably find a hose to fit the top, wherever it is located . On the bottom, you have to be mindfull that the oil filter and the power steering isn't in the way. My 440 engine has the water pump inlet on the right side where there is plenty of room for a right side lower radiator tube.......................MO

IMHO, I think you would be just as good, if NOT better with a 2 row. There are radiators that have two 1.25" rows. Those will cool every bit as good or better I believe than a three row. Because to squeeze three rows in, they have to reduce the row size. The two row is much more cost effective as well.

Champion makes some thqt are pretty popular. They have a sister company called Eagle or American Eagle that makes the same champion rad but in a 2 row 1" tube rad. Aluminum and a direct fit.

I have a champion in my car with the 500" motor.. it is the 3 row and stays dead on 180... I bought mine off of EBAY and got it for 185 plus shipping. Very fast shipper.. I have the 26" in my car.

I put this Afco rad in my 63 I bought from Mancini for about $329. It fit right in and had the mounting brackets on it but with no holes. I just lined it up and drilled the holes in the brackets on the rad. Then bolted it in. It has the lower hose on the drivers side and cools just fine. I added the fan on a toggle switch in case I would need it if I get stuck in traffic. Ron

Kinda leaning toward an American Eagle 22 inch 2 Row. They use the 1" tubes so a 2 row should be ok. Going go back to a factory 195 degree t-stat as well. Temps never get much over 90 here but it does get very humid. As it is now, with the original rad, I'm seeing temps of around 240 in traffic with not much drop once I hit the highway. That's with a shroud and a factory 7 blade clutchfan. No fun at all. I'm going to put in a trans cooler as well.
