Dumb question of the day.

If the car has no antenna does that mean radio delete on original purchase for 1962?
Assuming the car is completely original.

How should that effect the value of the car in todays market?
A. Big Deal
B. No Big Deal

Thanks.

Craig, we need to stop meeting like this! Lol

My '62 Polara 500 has the radio delete and no antenna hole in the fender. If the radio was an option and it wasn't ordered. No big deal. If the radio was standard and someone ordered it without then that can mean more of a deal being it was special ordered without. I don't remember if the radio was standard on the Polara 500. I'll have to look it up again.

Different items have more merit than others. Say someone ordered your car with the optional 413 Max Wedge. Now that would be over the top for a special order. These cars could be ordered almost anyway that you wanted for what they had to offer. A lot of people didn't like all the fancy options back then because they thought there would be more to go wrong with the car. Now days everyone wants all they can get on a new car.

If your car was ordered with every possible option available, that could mean a big deal as well as the car being ordered with every possible delete, like if someone wanted it for drag racing.

Radios were not standard during that era and therefore, not something that can be 'deleted'.

the equal would be:

Max Wedge delete
four speed delete
A/C delete
PS delete

No big deal.

My SS 63 Plymouth is a radio delete car and I prefer it that way because I know it was made to do one thing, win at the track, not cruise around in with your fury nodding dog listening to Julie Andrews. I think most building a clone Max Wedge SS car would like a radio delete.

On the subject I do have a delete plate at home for a 63 Plymouth if anyone is chasing one. PM me.
