Anybody put an aftermarket radio in a '65 Coronet without hacking the dash or factory face plate? I am just looking for a decent setup not one of the high dollar hidden ones.
The secret audio systems aren't really all that much. No, you can't get one for $100, but they're only about $240.....which is in line with a decent in dash unit. I've installed a couple of these and they work well. CD changers are also available for them.
Hidden radio looks good. Now I need to find some type of hidden antenna. My car is a radio delete and I don't want to drill any holes or have one of the funky ones on the windshield. Actually using a portable radio sitting on the rear seat right now.
Harder to find and certainly much more directional, but my (ex) A-12 car has an antenna that was (basically) just a wire that adheres to the inside of your windshield (or rear window). And if the windshield is tinted it makes it really hard to see from the outside
