Hey guys, I have a 1972 Plymouth satellite sebring plus. It was running great and had all power. Randomly...out of no where I have no power. The battery was dead, so I thought a new battery would cure it. Put a new battery in, jump box.....nothing. No lights, no turning over....nada. Did replace the common mopar electrical issues on fire wall....Just noticed the wiring under the dash looks melted a bit. Would that be the issue? ? If so where might I be able to get a Under dash wiring harness? Have only found them for standard gauges and mine has Rally gauges. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Probably fried you're amp gauge. Disconnect the two terminals on the amp gauge and connect them together and tape them up and make sure they're not touching anything else, then reconnect your battery and see you few have power.
You may have blown the fusible link at the bulkhead also, check that first.

Be careful if it's the fusible link and you turn the power on you may cook more stuff under your dash

As above^^^ : check the fusible link and ammeter connections. If you have no headlights then the problem is in one of those 2 places and/or the wiring and connections in between.

Here is where you can download your car's schematic so you have a roadmap of where to look:

agree

Thank you very much guys will give it a shot tomorrow

First check the fusible link then follow that red wire to the bulk head on the fire wall. Push on the wire and make it is seated real good. That's another common problem spot on these cars. If both of those are good then check the amp gauge.

How was it found that it was the battery in the first place? I'm with moparmarks. Start with Bulkhead. Separate it gently and spray the crap out of it with electric contact cleaner. Do the free stuff first. Second I'll have to go with HT413.
