Good evening. I have a fire core RTR set up on my charger. I don't need a lot of the wires to run this so i modified my wiring harness. I am now stuck trying to figure out how i should run a few wires that were previously set for the ballast resistor. I have done the AM meter bypass and had my key-on(blue wire) going director to the distributor for a 12 volt source. any ideas of how the others wires should be spliced or connected would be greatly appreciated.
 
do you have a control box like msd? you wont need the ballast but if you have the orange box you will. if msd just wire the ballast wires together

I don't have or need a box with the RTR set up A. just constant 12V to the distributor
 
Same as MSD then wire what was going to the ballast together, done.

I'll give that a shot. I really just need wires to the coil, alternator, and voltage regulator. Just want to make sure I'm using the right wires
 
If I live to be 100, I still won't understand why people choose to deprive themselves of the information an ammeter provides.
Maybe it's the engineer in me.(
 
Their great until they catch fire lol Amp meters are good for basic readings of the charging circuit but a volt meter is a more accurate instrument for seeing the output voltage and if troubleshooting is needed then the amp meter certainly can be deployed for that. I just wish they had made a volt meter for the standard cluster :(
