i have a '63 belvedere with the tapered key way axle hub that is bent. i have no idea where to get one. does anybody know if some one sells one? junkyards in socal are full of econo cars and i haven't seen an old car in one in years. thanks, gary

Good luck. You can try asking in the "wanted" section here or on Moparts.com and someone may have an extra or might be parting out a '63. Make sure you know if you have an open or sure grip because the length of the axle may be different.

Another option is to contact Dr. Diff. He has a mod that will allow you to switch to later axles. Not sure how much it costs though.

i have a pair of hubs from a 62 dart not sure if they are the same.if your still looking

If you could afford it and can find one its nice to change out the complete rear as I put a drum to drum rear from a 65 Belvedere in my 63. I found a used one pretty cheap and its nice not having that hub and nut anymore. Ron

There is a simple mod that costs next to nothing that converts the drum/hub to slip on drums. This is something anyone should look into that has one of these rears. If you do the work yourself, the only cost is a new set of drums and wheel studs.

Check this link for a complete article on how to do this simple mod.

the hub is not a problem with my car as the mod has already been done. i have five 8/34 rears that are late model if i wanted to change it out but mine works ok as is. i only have a stock 318 in it so the rear will hold up fine. i wanted to drive mine more and didn't want a big block that would have to stop at every gas station it passed. i bought a 440, 331 hemi and then bought the 318. yes i do have the hub puller and it works fine.

Thanks for posting that.

Sorry FlatheadGary as I must have misunderstood your question. Did you try that guy named Tony D as I cant remember his full last name but I know he is in Delaware but he has a ton of Mopar parts from the 60's. He advertises a lot as I am sure you could find his number. That's all I can think of at the moment. If I think of anywhere else I will post it. Good luck , Ron
